Research Description

Cellular Energy Research Bundle – M0TS-C 10mg + SS-31 10mg

The Cellular Energy Research Bundle brings together MOTS-C 10mg and SS-31 10mg, two research peptides associated with distinct but complementary areas of mitochondrial biology. MOTS-C has attracted research interest as a mitochondrial-derived peptide involved in cellular communication, metabolic homeostasis and adaptive responses to energetic stress, while SS-31 has been investigated extensively in relation to mitochondrial membranes, cardiolipin interactions and mitochondrial bioenergetics.

Bringing these compounds together creates a useful comparative platform for researchers exploring how mitochondrial signalling and mitochondrial structural function intersect. The bundle is particularly relevant to experimental work examining cellular energetics, oxidative processes, mitochondrial stress responses and metabolic signalling.

What’s included

MOTS-C 10mg × 1

MOTS-c 10mg synthetic peptide reference material supplied in lyophilised form for controlled laboratory and analytical research. Verified by HPLC and mass spectrometry with batch-specific documentation.

SS-31 10mg × 1

SS-31 (10 mg) high-purity research peptide for mitochondrial and cellular bioenergetics studies. ≥99% HPLC-verified, lyophilised solid with full COA and fast UK dispatch for laboratory research use only.

Reconstitution & Handling

  • Recommended solvent Refer to COA / product notes
  • Storage Store as directed in documentation
Important reconstitution notice: Unless the product page, COA, or batch-specific documentation states otherwise, Peptiology peptide products should only be reconstituted using bacteriostatic water supplied by Peptiology.

Peptides are chemically sensitive materials, and reconstitution behaviour can be influenced by the exact diluent used. Different diluents may vary in pH, ionic strength, preservative content, buffering capacity, osmolarity, dissolved gases, and trace impurities. Even small differences in these factors can affect how a peptide dissolves and behaves in solution.

From a chemistry perspective, pH is especially important because it can alter the ionisation state of acidic and basic amino acid side chains. This can change the peptide’s net charge, hydrogen bonding, electrostatic interactions, and hydrophobic association. If the local pH environment is unsuitable, the peptide may show cloudiness, floating particles, clumping, gel-like behaviour, aggregation, or precipitation.

Bacteriostatic water, sterile water, saline, acetic acid water, and buffered solvent systems are not chemically identical. Substituting one for another may change the peptide’s solubility profile, particularly for longer sequences, hydrophobic peptides, modified peptides, or peptides with specific salt forms.

For consistency, reproducibility, and batch comparability, only the recommended diluent system should be used unless an alternative solvent is specifically stated in the product documentation.
  • Do not substitute diluents unless specifically instructed.
  • Only use Peptiology-supplied bacteriostatic water unless stated otherwise.
  • Do not assume all peptides behave the same after reconstitution.
  • Visible changes may be caused by diluent incompatibility, pH shift, ionic effects, concentration effects, or peptide-specific solubility behaviour.
  • Peptiology cannot verify reconstitution compatibility where non-Peptiology diluents have been used.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
